T2T001 - Lifestreaming for your Online Reputation
The first podcast for TigerTwoTiger will be looking at lifestreaming websites and how they can be used in your online activity. It isn’t just about Friendfeed (although it does figure quite heavily). Instead we talk about why they are good, what isn’t so good about them, what is the best way to use them and most importantly, how they can be implemented as a part of your online activity, whether you are a business or an individual.
It starts with a look at the news over the past week, including more microblogging sites, Google Street View and growing concerns over Facebook fraud. And the resource of the week is the podcast of For Immediate Release - The Hobson and Holtz Report.

You did it! Well done! Two comments:
1. The first part sounds scripted - are you reading from a script? In which case, I’d abandon that. Maybe list bullet points that you can bridge between, and/or rehearse quickly beforehand, but it would come across much more naturally if you just talked around the subject. I feel this is what’s unique about podcasting - makes it the audio equivalent of blogging with its genuine ‘voice’.
2. On a technical point, you might benefit from a pop filter - that is, a thin mesh placed between you and the mic that stops those slightly odd ‘plosives’ - eg when you say the letter ‘P’ or ‘T’, it causes a rush of air that causes a slight ‘boom’ sound. Here’s a good one that I use: http://tinyurl.com/6efvjt - although if you’re not using a mic stand you might need to source a different one. You can even make your own with a wire coat-hanger and some nylon stocking (and yes, I’ve done that in the past myself).
Anyway, brilliant to hear another podcast that’s dead-centre in my radar now.

Thank you for your feedback, Brendan. The scripting thing is an issue and it actually stems from my nerves! I can talk the hind leg off a donkey with tireless enthusiasm when I don’t have a microphone in front of me, but put the microphone there and I get all nervous. Although I think the script is a crutch. I am going to try and wean myself off it. The second podcast (due out tomorrow) is also scripted but I am planning to give #3 a go with less script and see how it sounds.
I spent Friday trying to figure out the ‘p’ and ‘t’ problem as #2 suffers with it as well. I am going to give the nylon stocking a go and see if it helps. I am all for improvisation!
Once again, thank you for listening and I really appreciate your advice. I am sure that with each bit of help I will get better and better.

Well done, Nancy
we just recorded our first episode of our Mu Show yesterday, so it’s great to hear you getting started with this. At last I’ve got a phone system I can record on, so can we count on you for interviews / chats along the way?
You’ve done a great job here - just need a £10 pop-filter to get rid of the plosives and a bit less scripting. It’s kind of reassuring to read your stuff but for me, I prefer spontaneity with structure as a mix… (mind you, I’ll let you guys be the judge of whether or not it works when we publish ours!)
I’m going to subscribe, for sure!

Thanks Sam! It is definitely getting better and better and I have been getting some great feedback. The interview option is an absolute definite - let’s talk…
All the best
